Culture Review 2007: The iPhone.
After years of speculation Apple introduced the iPhone to the biggest media frenzy in the history of electronics. The phone was criticized by ‘experts’ before its release as lacking features and being too expensive to sell well. Similar criticisms were leveled at the iPod when it was introduced. Like with the iPod consumers have loved the device and it has become the fastest selling electronic device in history. As with the iPod critics failed to appreciate the revolutionary nature of the product and the iPhone appears set (like the iPod) to change the industry and the way other manufacturers produce phones. Unlike other phones, the iPhone is computer like in its web browsing capability, has the best multimedia capabilities on the market, and has an interface that is descibed as fun to use compared to other phones.
